These are boiler plates that stand out for their strength and toughness, thanks to which they ensure reliable and safe use in pressure equipment. Their quality, processing requirements and properties are governed by ASTM/ASME regulations. Thanks to their properties, boiler plates according to ASTM/ASME are widely used in a number of industries, including refinery applications.
Properties and uses of boiler plates according to ASTM/ASME
Boiler plates stand out especially for their strength, toughness and high ductility. They are very weldable and machinable, which makes them ideal for the production of storage tanks and boilers of curved shape. The relatively high yield strength and tensile strength allow the steel to withstand high stress and prevent deformation, thus reducing the risk of material leakage and thus the possible negative impact on the environment. Technical requirements of sheets are specified by the ASTM standard, or ASME – ASTM is denoted by the letter A before the numbers and covers the general properties of the material, ASME (marked SA) is based on ASTM and specifies requirements directly for pressure applications, specifically the BPVC = Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code standard.
Choose from a wide range of sizes.
We supply sheets in the following dimensions:
- length: max. 18,000 mm,
- width: 1000-3200mm,
- thickness: 5-100 mm,
- weight: max. 12,500 kg.
The stated dimensions are only approximate. The resulting appearance depends on the combination of individual parameters and material specification. Upon agreement, we are able to produce sheets up to a length of 21,000 mm and a thickness of 200 mm.
